NATIONAL SKILL TRAINING INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN (Erstwhile - Regional Vocational Training Institute for Women) was established in 1977 with an objective to empower women by providing them various types of Vocational Training courses under the aegis of Women Training, Directorate General of Employment & Training, Ministry of Labour and Employment. From April 2015 onwards the Ministry has been transferred under Skill Development And Entrepreneurship, New Delhi. The Institute is located in the heart of Mumbai in Dadar West, and conducts training programme in Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) and Craft Instructors Training Scheme (CITS).  The trades offered Under CTS is Dress Making, Basic Cosmetology, Electronic Mechanic, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Desk Top Publishing, Architectural Draughtsmanship, Secretarial Practice (English) and Under CITS the trades offered are Dress Making, Draughtsman Assistantship, Secretarial Practice (English) and Electronic Mechanic.

The Labs and workshop is well equipped with the latest user friendly tool equipments and machinery. The faculties are well qualified and selected from UPSC, professional trained to impart the best training techniques. Wide range of books and other study materials are available in the library for trainees welfare.

Industrial Visits - Industrial visits to various organisations are arranged for trainees in order to upgrade the knowledge of trainees regarding the requirement of industry.  Trainees are also deputed for on-the-job training in various reputed private and government organisations for the trainees to get familiar with the real work situations and acquiring hands on practice.

Placement Cell - Placement follow-up is also coordinated for the pass out trainees.
